Origin and History:

AXMEDIS International Conference has been established in 2005 thanks to Consortium of the project, with the support of ACIT - Advance Concepts for Interactive Technology GMBH (Germany), and in collaboration with Ciclo di Conferenze Internazionale WEDELMUSIC and Associazione Internazionale MUSICNETWORK.

The annual conference series focuses on developments and applications in the field of cross-media. Axmedis, in fact, was born from the awareness that current progresses in this sector need innovative technologies to face the challenges of the market.
The consortium who promoted the project comprises AXMEDIS – main European producers of digital content – affiliates, suppliers, companies operating in the field of information technology and research groups engaged in the production, protection and distribution of content through different channels, such as interactive TV (i-TV), DVBT, DVBS, personal computers, mobile phones and others.
The event, since it’s first edition in Florence in 2005, is aimed at the promotion of debates and collaborations between technology researchers, operators, developers, experts and project managers.
AXMEDIS 2005 gathered attendees coming from the academic, commercial and industrial sector and it tackled several issues, both technical and commercial.
Some of the subject matters related to the production of cross-media and digital-media content that the International Conference Axmedis takes into consideration are: production, protection, management, multimedia representation, formats, processing, workflows, distribution, business and transaction models, and the integration of management systems with distribution chains, with particular attention to the costs reduction and problems solving.
Axmedis events offered opportunities to exchange concepts, proposals, prototypes and research ideas, with the aim of achieving results that can contribute to scientific research and benefit commercial and industrial communities.
