- Corroborating a kind of fruition that is active, dialogical and able to transform the public into the protagonist of the experience: the visitors are stimulated to think about the work of contemporary art, about its production, its conceptual capacity which distinguishes it from all the other expressive forms and about the meaning it has in today’s society.
Sectors of intervention:
Diffusion and improvement of Contemporary Culture
The Centre for Contemporary Culture Strozzina organizes exhibitions, lectures, meetings with the artists, workshops, film screenings, events in the courtyard and research programmes for schools, universities, young people and families.
Origin and History:
The Centre for Contemporary Culture Strozzina(CCCS), part of the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, is a platform open to the different practices and approaches that characterize contemporary productions of art and culture.
The multi-year program of CCCS, directed by Franziska Nori, bases on local and international networks and proposes thematic exposition projects that investigate different aspects of contemporary culture. Independent curators and international institutions are invited to design exhibitions, films and videos projections, workshops, performances and lectures’ programmes aimed at the elaboration of the chosen topics. The CCCS realizes cultural projects that, tackling socially relevant issues and being connected with the events that affect our society, allow a direct and constant dialogue with the public.
The Department of Education and Mediation of CCC Strozzina organizes programmes and activities to promote the active role of the visitors. It is a project of art mediation that encompasses new forms of communication and reception of works of art.
