Popper si è dedicato allo studio dei problemi critici della scienza. Formatosi a stretto contatto con il Circolo di Vienna, non ne fece mai veramente parte, mantenendo un atteggiamento critico che ha trovato espressione nel suo primo lavoro edito nel 1934 Logik der Forschung (Logica della ricerca).
