Ascii Art Ensemble
L'Ascii Art Ensemble è un gruppo, composto da Walter van der Cruijsen (fondatore di Desk.nl), Luka Frelih e Vuk Cosic (entrambi del Ljudmila Digital Media Lab, Slovenia), che sviluppa immagini in caratteri Ascii (il codice numerico su cui si fonda il linguaggio del computer) che si muovono e creano opere d'arte.
Biografia
L’Ascii Art Ensemble è stato fondato ad Amsterdam nel 1998 da Walter van der Cruijsen, Luka Frelih e Vuk Cosic

Poetica L’obiettivo dell’Ascii Art Ensemble è di trasporre le immagini in movimento dei film in immagini costituite da caratteri Ascii in movimento. L'idea che sta dietro a questo obiettivo non è quella di trasformare un'immagine nel suo codice sorgente, come per esempio nei progetti dell’artista Jodi, ma preferibilmente di rappresentare quelle stesse immagini usando caratteri Ascii in movimento.
