The MOOCs (massive open online courses)

As the name suggests, it's the biggest body of online education providers in the US, with several universities and independent educational institutions offering numerous online education programs for both American and foreign students. It allows you interactive participation using the web. As far as Indian students are concerned, it's the biggest attraction at the moment, as increasing tuition, high cost of living and visa restrictions are hampering middle class students in India to approach US colleges. Over three lakh (3, 00,000) Indian students have joined online courses at MOOCs in just a couple of months this year.

Some attractive features of MOOCs are:

· Reduced entry barriers to invite more and more students · Education from top universities (that too virtually free of cost sometimes) · Renowned faculty from reputed institutes and universities · Much less fee than the campus programs of the US universities

What is it to learn in an online environment? Is it much different than the traditional classroom? The world of education has evolved much in the past decade, and many are choosing to study online to obtain either their high school diploma or college degree. Many of the classes available involve networking with others, so he or she has to learn to adapt to this process. One will discuss this further on how to go about this successfully.

Almost every class that is available on the Internet requires some form of socializing with their peers and teacher. This is usually done through a discussion board, especially if it is done the platform called Blackboard. The educators almost always make this a requirement as a part of the student's grade too; although, this is not always the case.

Would you like to have a completely unlimited view into the cake decorating world?

On-site courses can be social and fun. I've done a couple myself. But if you're just starting out, wanting to brush up on your existing knowledge or need a specific cake design to follow, online courses and membership websites are a great alternative.

Here are some reasons you might look into learning cake decorating online:

You don't have to leave your house! I know personally how hard it is to get out of the house when you have children, live far away from the travel provider or don't want to spend your precious time driving back and forth. Flexibility - you can view your class whenever, wherever (with internet access) and however many times you like. Online courses are usually cheaper than on-site courses, as the providers don't need to pay as much for materials, room hire, insurances etc. I have seen individual courses as low as US$10. Membership websites like SugarEd Productions charge a yearly or monthly fee for access to tutorials, recipes, peer and instructor support and much more. So they really are value for money. You don't have to rely on your memory. On-site courses give you one opportunity to soak up everything you see and hear, while online courses are only a click away for an instant reminder. Unlimited topics - you can access a world (literally!) of cake decorating. FCEM exam
