Are you tired of walking to work? Do you want to stop counting the miles dictated in your lease agreement? Are you ready to own your own car? If so, you're probably trying to figure out if you should buy used or new. While many older models will get you from point A to point B and can be inexpensive to purchase, new cars provide you with essential safety features and state-of-the-art technology that are well worth the extra cash.

Technology

The equipment we expect in a new vehicle, such as an automatic transmission, airbags, air-conditioning, and many others, were once fancy new features to have in your vehicle. Today, they are standard fare. Now you can buy new cars with a six-speed automatic transmission. Included might be a one-year service to a navigation system that lets you talk to a service representative if needed. This will allow users to check texts and make phone calls hands-free, which allows you to concentrate on your driving. Some systems will send out an emergency signal if you are involved in an accident. You can have navigation devices that help in long distance traveling or in just locating your local baker. In many vehicles today you can even synchronize your smart phone with the vehicle.

New used car dealers have always been at the top of peoples minds, when they are buying a car. Over the years many people have wondered if they should buy used cars vs new cars. I'm here to give a little info on this since I was in this predicament a couple of years ago. I had many people give me their opinions on the pros and cons of used cars vs new car. Basically you can't go wrong either way, but the main factor in your decisions will be based on cost.

Once upon a time, new cars were the lords of the dealership lot. As they luxuriated with more bells, whistles, choices, and warranties than a buyer could ring, blow, decline, or sign, "used" cars languished as "abused" vehicles to consumers with zero interest in purchasing somebody's traded-in junk.

But that was then. This is now.

With terms like "certified pre-owned" and "factory-certified pre-owned" trending as the auto industry norms, used cars have assumed a rather princely posture - and it's showing up bigtime in sales.

"The certified pre-owned market is large," says Tom Webb, a vehicle auction economist, "and it's going to get larger."

"Automakers understand that many traditional buyers are considering used cars," says Edmunds.com analyst Joe Spina. "In response, they're emphasizing their certified pre-owned programs to earn revenue on used car sales."
