Hringur Jóhannesson (21. desember 1932 - 17. july 1996) was one of the most important artists of Iceland in the 20. century. Hringur was born in Haga in Aðaldal. He was graduated from the Artschool of Iceland in the year of 1952 and had his fyrst privatexhibition 1962. Inn total his privatexhibitions were around 40 and his shared exhibitions around 70, bouth in Iceland and in other countries. he tought at the Art school of Iceland in 1959-1962, The Art school of Reykjavík from 1962 and in school board from 1965. He died in Reykjavík hospital.
